Juanito Conte

El artista explora la imagen, percepción y memoria mediante pintura y técnicas gráficas (serigrafía, retículas, colores fluorescentes). Influenciado por la imprenta familiar, trabaja con abstracción y capas que exigen mirada activa. Su obra interroga más que ilustra. Ha realizado exposiciones individuales desde 2003 (Galería MC NY, Fundación Unión) y colectivas (MACA, Premio Nacional 2024), participó en ferias internacionales (SP-Arte, Art Lima, Este Arte). Premiado por FEFCA 2019 y Bienal Ecuador 2010, propone la mirada como resistencia crítica ante el consumo visual acelerado.

The artist explores image, perception, and memory through painting and graphic techniques (screen printing, grids, fluorescent colors). Influenced by his family's printing business, he works with abstraction and layers that demand an active viewer. His work questions rather than illustrates. He has held solo exhibitions since 2003 (MC NY Gallery, Fundación Unión) and group exhibitions (MACA, National Prize 2024), and has participated in international art fairs (SP-Arte, Art Lima, Este Arte). Awarded by FEFCA 2019 and the Ecuador Biennial 2010, he proposes the gaze as a critical resistance to accelerated visual consumption.
